Project A-Kon 22 Con Report 
Well, I’m back for another update and we got some nice stuff for you to share. First up, I want my convention report for this year’s to one my most favorite and most visted Anime convention, Project A-Kon. If you rememember, I missed out last year’s con thanks to catching the Chicken Pox. Now that was over with, I finally managed to make it.
- Thursday
Me and my twin brother ThunderFox JT left really in morning since our flight leaves by 7:30am. Our dad dropped us off at Ft. Lauderdale International Airport and managed to check-in with no problems. But man, I hate these stupid check-in fees for luggage, they’re such a pain in the buttowski. My best friend Taylor and his girlfriend and buddy arrived as well and waited for our flight. Our flight left without a hitch and spent the entire duration by sleeping since I didn’t get enough rest. We arrived at Dallas/Fort Worth Texas International Airport and still hasn’t changed a bit since the last time I was there. Taylor’s companions seems very excited since this is there first time here. We took a shuttle bus and arrived at Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Dallas where the con usually takes place everu year. WLP’s founder and my good friend, Kris Overstreet was at the pre-reg area and as always welcome us with his witty humor and politics while wait for his room to be ready. We ate at the food court from the hotel across from ours for a bit and got ourselves ready to get in line to pick up our pre-reg. To end the day, we left to North Market Street and have dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse. Man, I haven’t eaten there since 2006 and the food is still great as ever, especially their freshly baked sourdough bread. Watched game 5 for the NBA Finals but wasn’t happy with the results, bah. Well, at leats we had a good meal. We went back to our rooms and I spent my time watching AMV Hell before heading to bed.
- Friday
First Day of the con and went out there early as usual. At first I was excited but after going through the artist alley and re-checking the guests taking place at this year’ con, it wasn’t what I thought I would expect like the past visits. There weren’t any familiar artists at this year’s artist alley and there weren’t many interesting guests except for Kyle Herbert, Team Ninja and the creator of the Dead Fantasy series but didn’t managed to take the time to meet them. However, what really cheered me up was to see a familiar face and it was none other than my fellow favorite artist Memopad. It was great seeing each other once more and this time finally introducing him to Taylor and the others. Another familiar face was Kitsune back from the Fred Perry Fan Club these and talked about remembrance about those days. Things got even better when the exhibition hall opened and went straight to the Antarctic Press Booth to see my all time favorite comic book artists Gold Digger’s Fred Perry and Ninja High School’s Ben Dunn. It brings a tear to my eyes of able to see and talk to these great talented artists once more and commission more works again. After saving my commission spots, spent the team napping back at the room since I was already tired from today’s venture. Sheesh, ain’t what I used to be back then. We end the night by taking part in Kris’s usual con parties he does every year for the con. Once more, it was blast enjoying these parties he always throw and nothing but games, funny movies, and good food and drinks.
- Saturday
Not much to say about Day 2 of the con. We wandered around killing time and managed to pick up my commissions. We had a bit of trouble with Taylor’s girlfriend but then again this is just here first time in the con so we can’t blame here. Visited a Cowboy Shop to buy souvenirs for my nieces for some nice T-shirts. Went back to Spaghetti Warehouse considering to be our last time meal until next year. Had to make it wortwhile, heh heh. Finally, I went to the Anime Hell panel and had some great laughs. And so thus ended our time at the con. It was sad to miss out Day 3 for the con since our return flight is an early morning one as well.
- Sunday
Me and ThunderFox JT had to leave on our own since our flight and Taylor’s were separate flights. Managed to get back home safely by 10am and our dad picked us up. We stopped by at Seminole Hard Rock Casino before heading home to end our nice trip. Almost won $1000 at the Poker Room for its hourly High Hand Bonus. Manged to get a Full House of three Kings and two Aces as my High Hand but later just less than half an hour before it ended some old lady beat my High Hand with a four Queens and a Jack, ugh. Should have took a break from playing and maybe might have changed the pace of the game and prevented her from getting that High Hand and won the bonus. Well, I managed to have fun and gained more experience from playing.
Well, this year’ con was fun but next time I hope there will be better guests at the con and hopefully enjoy all three days of the con. Anyway, enough ranting so let’s get to the T&A everyone have been waiting for.
