Rough Start for 2013

As the title says, it wasn’t easy starting off the new year. This pretty much started days before last year’s Christmas when I suffered through my first car accident. Had to take care of paying the repairs when my dad removed the full coverage of my car insurance to put it for his new Jeep without telling me. I covered my part on the repairs but that drained my funds. However, I’ll be making a good recovery once I get my tax refund. But there is even more good news, I finally got a new phone: goodbye 3G MyTouch, hello 4G Samsung Galaxy S III. Not only that, I finally got the courage to purchase my first computer and this is a monster: Dell XPs 8300 with 2TB Hard Drive, 16GB ram, Third Generation  Intel Core i7 processor, AMD Radeon video card, and more. Remind you that I got these new gadgets before the accident happened. Now I’m more active online with the new phone and computer so I decided to start my own youtube channel. All I need now is a desktop microphone.

At least a couple of good things happened to me during January. First of, I finally took my motorcycle course and passed it. Honestly, I was nervous thinking about riding actual street motorcycles as part of the course but in fact they were actually fun. Maybe in a few years I might get my own bike one day. For now, I have to stick to this scooter my dad bought to help me get to work once I pick my motorcycle endorsement. Look out world, I’m now a motorcyclist. Last but not least, I went to Animate Miami. Its a local Anime convention in Miami run by the same people behind Florida Supercon. It had 10 voice actors like the entire English voice cast for High School of the Dead but the big kicker that it featured four My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. And yes, I’m a brony and I’m proud of it. In fact, Animate Miami was the first I ever gone to as a brony. Met these awesome voice actors from the show: Andrea Libman (Voice of Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy), Nicole Oliver (Voice of Princess Celestia and Cherilee), Peter New (Voice of Big Macintosh), and Michelle Creber (Voice of Applebloom plus singing voices for her and Sweetie Belle’s).  And its not just the VA’s, I met the crew from Everfree Network even Final Draft, brony artist Toxic Mario from DA, the funny man behind the PONY. MOV series HotDiggedyDemon. Seriously, this con has given one of the most unique experiences I ever had.

Well, that’s it. I got more stuff planned up and will try to get more artwork up in my blog. Next con I’m going will be Orlando Megacon. It will be great to see Fred Perry, Dragen, Maverikate, and George again. But the most I’m looking forward to is meeting Tara Strong, John DeLancie, John DiMaggio, and once again Vic Mignogna. But again, thank you for all the support. Let’s hope we have great year.

Works by Ferdinand Poblete (A.K.A CallMePo)

Yeah, I’m way overdue for an update. Been slacking off for way to long. Long story short, been through a lot since the last quarter of 2012. If you want to hear a better explanation wait for the last post of the update. Decided to put the works by an old friend I knew since the Fred Perry Fan Club days, Ferdinand Poblete. I originally know him as Ferdinator or FerdKat. But these days everybody know him as CallMePo on DA. CallMePo were one of the first artists I started to commission back in the day and to this day his work is still well worth watching. Obviously a Fred Perry like myself but he is also a fan of many things such as from Anime, DC Comics, and awesome cartoon series like Adventure Time and Kim Possible. I had to mention Kim Possible because we all know we love Rufus the molerat and he’s one of the artists who draw some great Kim and Shego art. I remember commissioning him for the first time back on my very visit to Project A-Kon like at 2003 or 2004 during the time the con was held at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport Hyatt Hotel. It was great meeting him and some of the FPFC’ers in person and I will never forget it. Ferd really have one of the most unique styles I’ve seen. Really, there’s something about his comic/cartoon’ish style that really catches my interest, especially when he draws sexy pin-ups of known characters. Overall, he is one of the best artist I know and he is still worth checking out in my book. Make sure to watch him at his DA page ’cause he always update his watchers whenever he is open for commissions. Anyway, enjoy these awesome works.

Comics by DarkZel

DarkZel was one of the first artists I ever commissioned to do comics of my characters and always have done an impressive job. So far, he only did 2 full comics and one failed attempt but they were well worth to look. Sadly, I don’t have the failed Lisa comic with me, its on the old computer which I can’t access it right now because its monitor die. Will post it up once I get it.

Works by DarkZel

First of, sorry for the long absence on rebuilding my blog. Been busy as of late and that that I was just plain lazy. Anyway, I’m back and like to bring back another artist that I had the honor of seeing draw my characters. DarkZel is an artist with a cute Anime anime style with a hint of cartoonish characteristics. I originally found out about his work when he became the second artist to work on White Lightning Productions’s The Misadventures of Chichi-chan webcomic series. Well, I really liked the original artist who did the series but DarkZel’s style actually fits with series even more so. As soon as I found out from my buddy Kris Overstreet, the big cheese of WLP, that DarkZel can do commissions, I rushed to contact him. Since then, I always feel grateful in working with him and he never disappoints me in his work. He always able to bring both the cute and sexy sides of my characters and does an awesome job in both pin -ups and comics. But it was sad that he had to retire from working on Chichi-chan but these days he’s been on FurAffinity. However, he hasn’t been updating for quite some time. I do hope he returns with more new works to show.

Works by Jaeh

Wanted to add some furry art into the mix so I reposted the works of my good friend Jaeh. A fellow furry artist who is also into expansion and other processes. Found out about him during the time his art style is at its early stages. My brother introduced me to his work and I glad to have met such a talented artist. Well known for creating some fun OC’s such as Busty Bird and Loree. If you love furry and expansion, then this is the artist you need to check out and as well he is available for commission.

Works by Ben Dunn

Ben Dunn! The name that Antarctic Press fans know him as the father of Amerimanga (manga style comics done in the US). He is the creator popular acclaimed Ninja High School and the action packed Warrior Nun Areala as well as other one shot comics and mini series. After finding out Fred Perry’s works, it lead me in discovering Ben’s. Ninja High School is probably one of my all time favorite comic book series thanks to Ben’s great art style and large cast of characters that almost each one are referenced or inspired form certain media whether tv, movies, comics and especially Anime/Manga. He has done others works outside of the Antarctic Press in the past such as doing storyboards for The Real Ghostbusters. He once even tried animating a Warrior Nun Areala project but only managed to animate an opening. His works are still known throughout the country and I do hope he continues for a long time, hence he deserves such recognition as one of best artists around. Also, he’s usually open for commission if you contact him or meet him at the cons he go to.

I need motivation! Current Report for my status.

Yeah, I finally moved my lazy butt and went back continuing on rebuilding the blog. A lot of things are going on for me but nothing serious. Been working early morning shifts since last week but you guys might have to get used to it because I probably be earning that full time position at my workplace which requires working on said hours. Yeah, won’t be staying up late like I used to but more hours means more pay plus I will get better benefits and bonuses and be able to progress further on my career for the place. I just hope I get it. Year 2012 have been pretty rough for me financially mostly from spending cash on eating out, gambling, and some bad choices. Probably the worse part was the BESC letting a different writer take over my best work for the site, “Changing and Growing in Las Vegas”, But I somehow bit the bullet and managed to get back on my feet at times.

A few good things happened this year at least. Decided to try going to conventions that are more close by like Orlando Megacon and Florida Supercon in Miami. Orlando Megacon was awesome. Met up with some old friends like Dragen from the ol’ Fred Perry Fan Club days and Maverikat who is also another fellow commission art collector like I am. I got along with some of Mav’s friends too, especially George which I think he is nice guy. Whole reason why the con it was so great because Fred Perry was there and it was his first time making a con appearance in Florida. Other than spending my time at the con, but I got to reunite with one of my favorite voice actors, Vic Mignona and saw the Robot Chicken panel. I at least spent the whole weekend of the con, unlike Florida Supercon. I was supposed to spend only two days of that con but my best friend at work couldn’t make it for the first day so I skipped it. But enjoying the first day was satisfying enough. Got to meet a lot of great voice actors and producers/directors like Richard Horvitz, the Adult Swim crew like Dana Snyder, Jon Schnep and the likes, D.C Douglas, and such. I even enjoyed some fun panels. One ting that the cone was worth going is because I won some great prizes such as a Captain America inspired t-shirt from Team Renegade for having the highest score from their shooter game and a pre-owned copy of Resident Evil 5 from D.C Douglas with his autograph signed on the disc. Thanks to going at these cons, I missed out going Project A-Kon this year. But after witnessing how this year’s San Diego Comic Con, it might be the one con I’ll be aiming for next year if I start saving right now.

Well, not much going on project wise or writing wise. I still haven’t finished my current script for the BESC and it might be a while before I get to it because the monitor of my computer died. It was expected sooner or later since the old been faithful for over 10 years. I really need to get a new computer soon. Guess I have to save up for that first before any other trips are made, or at least get a new phone. I’m still working with Eastern Miracle as I decided to work on a 2D animation project with them involving Lisa transforming to her Bloodlust Lisa and maybe make her grow even bigger afterwards. I got other projects that are non-expansion but it does involve fandom for a certain cartoon show that made a huge hit since its first airing on October 2010. All I can say it will be my first time commissioning voice work and might be able to give a voice finally to one of my characters.

At least things are looking up, wish I could say the same thing to this blog. I got a lot of artwork to repost…*shrugs*. Anyway, just keep an eye on it for now. Right now, I’ll try to put an art post or two before I’m done with this update.

3D Animation

Moving on, this post will list all the animated works don in 3D animation. Its the least style I use out of the three I mentioned before but its the one style that can express itself in every angle and at times can look the most realistic. Computer generated animation started far back in the 70′s and 80′s, especially to develop video games. But as technology progresses, better graphics and sound improve the quality of work every year and 3D animation today already look more real than ever. We now see CG used on almost every media whether its on movies, TV, and even commercials. But CG is still animation and can be expressed in many ways whether it tries to look realistic or cartoonish. Here are the current list of 3D animated works I recieved from these artists.

2D Animation

As I continue to rebuild my blog, I wanted to make sure to fix any past mistakes that the old one had. The most noticeable one it had was how the posts were organized. I decided that I organize all of my works by artists but it is only for their pin-ups and images. I’m doing the same with animation work having its own category and split it in 2D animation, 3D animation and Sprite/Pixel work whether its just stills up to being animated.

We begin with the 2D animated works. Its the one style I prefer out of the three but at times it can be the one style it takes so much work, time, and effort to accomplish. I feel that 2D Animation is the most expressive out of the three styles since expansion has been used in that style in the past, especially in cartoons to express humor like body expansion and used on Anime in various ways direct to more *ahem* adult themes. Even though animation has been progressing and evolving as animated movies are focused to be done in 3D animation or at least use to make unbelievable scenes in live action movies more, no one can’t forget the roots of animation comes from as we still produce more animated series and movies by 2D whether its cell-shaded, computer generated like by Flash, and such. And so, I give thanks to all these amazing artists that able to improve their work by doing animation, a style of artistry that takes so much work but at the same time leaves many viewers in awe. If you like to know more of these artists and their works, please check their posts shown in the Artists category.

Works by Ronzo Murphy (ShoNuff44)

In this next post, I introduce by the incredible works of Ronzo Murphy, usually known as ShoNuff44 on DA and FA. I found out about his works when he is a long time contributor for the annuals for Antarctic Press’s Ninja High School and Gold Digger. Works I remembered where of Brittany “Cheetah” Diggers from GD in Hooters waitress uniform and a few fighting game related story submissions involving characters from Ninja High School, one a Battle Arena Toshinden parody and the other a King of Fighters one. After that, he’s been doing commissions at conventions and contributing his work to White Lightning Productions by doing cover art for Bootleg, the publisher’s hentai anthology series. Afterwards, he decided to come up his own characters and stories and introduced them at his galleries in DA and FA. He has a great talent on drawing sexy, curvy, and well endowed girls but he is more known in creating original characters with interesting personalities such as his most popular characters, Shred the Wolf and Squeek the Mouse. He even tried making his own comic book series called Coco Gunbun, about a tough bunny suit wearing dreadlock superheroine fighting crime in her hometown. But his ideas in drawing images and pin-ups are usually so astonishing that people who view his work never want to miss any new work he posts. He definitely shows his fandom for many series through his work whether its from video games, Anime, or even cartoons and movies. He is usually available to do online commissions but announces at his DA and FA pages when is completely available to do them and usually charges per character and the price varies if its hentai or non-hentai, sketch, inks, or colors. But once you see the finished work, it is totally worth it. Overall, Ronzo is definitely a talented artist you wouldn’t want to miss, GreatDragon AD approved.
